Carnets "Play the World" Grants

It's with great pleasure that we offer a limited number of Carnets "Play the World" Grants to a select group of League of American Orchestra members.
These grants are to assist recipients with the registration cost of either the Mid-Winter Managers' Meeting or the League's annual conference.                       

2023 grants are available for either the Annual Conference or Mid Winter Managers' meeting. League members may apply for one or both grants.

Prior Grant Recipients

"GCTYO is so appreciative of ATA Carnets "Play the World" Grant, which allowed us to attend the League conference in Los Angeles without breaking our budget. Once there, the opportunities to network with other youth orchestra directors and hear their stories both inspired us and validated our workl. League conferences generate an energy that gives us momentum to pursue our mission back home with renewed purpose. There were also practical benefits: Our Music Director, Chris Hisey, met with artists who might work with our students in the future. And I was reminded of funding that was available to our organization that we since applied for - fingers crossed that we get it! - Beth Ulman, Executive Director, Greater Connecticut Youth Orchestra

Details of the Carnets "Play the World" Grant are:

• General Managers, Operations Managers and Executive Directors from League member orchestras are eligible.
• Awards are given to orchestras with a history of international touring or that have an international tour scheduled for a future date. An orchestra and individual recipient are not eligible for the grant more than once every 5 years.
• The grant is for the League of American Orchestra Conference registration fees or comparable travel expenses.
• The grant application will be available online several months prior to the Mid-Winter Managers' Meeting and annual Conference.
• Grant recipients agree to:    
      
  o    provide Boomerang Carnets® with a copy of their League Conference
        Registration form following notification of the award,
  o    be available for a photo during the 2023 Conference Exhibit
        hours,
  o    pick up their grant check during the 2023 Conference Exhibit
        hours, and
  o    provide a brief (3-5 sentences) written summary of the
        benefits of attendance at Conference.
