2012 Carnets “Play the World” Scholarship Recipients

May 30, 2012

We have announced the recipients of this year’s Carnets “Play the World” scholarships. The scholarship program was initiated in 2010 to support the League of American Orchestra’s annual conference, in Dallas, June 5 – 8th. The purpose is to assist General Managers and Operations Managers, from orchestras who tour internationally, with conference registration costs. 2012 marks the third year boomerang carnets® has offered the scholarships, assisting 15 member orchestras attend Conference.

This year’s recipients of our Carnets “Play the World” scholarships are:

  • the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra
  • the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and
  • The Florida Orchestra.

Their attendance positively impacts the Conference and provides us with the opportunity to introduce ourselves and the benefits of our ATA Carnet services.  In addition, the scholarship dollars provide the recipients with Conference benefits they take back to their orchestras. We believe the scholarship program is a success for us, the League of American Orchestras, and their Members.  Since its inception in 2010, Carnets “Play the World” will have distributed more than $6,700 to orchestra scholarship recipients.

As in years past, boomerang carnets® President, Curt Wilson and ATA Carnet Specialists, Jacqueline Dalgleish and Monika Jadeszko, will present the scholarship recipients with their checks in the Conference Exhibit Hall. We value our relationship with the League of American Orchestras and their Members and are proud to be supporters of one of the country’s most distinguished art forms.
