Highlights of Our 2024 Continuing Education Participation

Global Trade Educational Conference (G-TEC) - Monika Jadeszko, Vice President of Global Carnet Operations, attended G-TEC in Chicago.  Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, G-TEC is a prominent event for importers, exporters, and trade professionals.  Over three days, attendees benefited from 50 speakers and 20 expert-led sessions, covering key topics such as AI applications, export penalties, cybersecurity risks, duty mitigation strategies, and forced labor issues.  Monika remarked on the program’s relevance, saying, “It was very beneficial to deepen my understanding of regulatory and compliance strategies in trade.”  With over 300 professionals present, Monika also connected with freight forwarders, compliance experts, and customs brokers, sharing her expertise on ATA Carnets.

Duty Drawback Webinar - Carnet Specialists Marge Walsh and Kiel Ursin attended a webinar "How to Be a Profit Hero via Duty Drawback," hosted by the International Compliance Professionals Association (ICPA).  This informative session provided insights into duty drawback programs, detailing eligibility, filing processes, and program preparation.  Industry experts shared strategies for optimizing cross-border trade operations and regulatory compliance, enhancing Marge and Kiel’s understanding of how duty drawback can benefit our customers.

Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Workshop - Marge Walsh attended this workshop presented by the Los Angeles Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association (LACBFFA) that covered various aspects of FTZs, including their many uses by industries.  Marge gained insights into FTZ classifications, user requirements, and common industry applications.

Hawaii Captive Insurance Council Forum – Curt Wilson, President & CEO, along with six other personnel, attended the annual 2024 Forum “Accelerating Risk Agility Captives & Beyond”. The Forum proved to be an excellent opportunity for learning and networking with other captive owners, industry service providers and others. The Kernow (boomerang’s parent company) contingent attended a full roster of topics relevant to Kernow International Indemnity Corp.

The Power of Webinars for Generating Leads Workshop - Moira Wilson Director, Marketing & Brand Development and Anva Nuguid, Marketing Coordinator, attended this workshop presented by RingCentral, detailing the mechanics of hosting a webinar with tips on cultivating leads using new features on their platform.  

Vimeo REFRAME Conference - The Marketing Team participated in several professional development sessions on cutting-edge video and communication strategies.  This exciting inaugural event, broadcast live from New York, focused on video innovation, bringing together major brands and marketing experts to explore AI advancements in video communication.
