Boomerang Carnets – Your Carnet Specialists

The Americas are comprised of twenty-three countries and present a variety of market opportunities for business growth.  Included in these countries are Canada, Mexico, and Chile—all ATA Carnet countries and part of the world ATA Carnet system.  In the past year, boomerang carnets® participated in a joint webinar with the U.S. Commercial Service, “ATA Carnets and Trade Show Exhibiting,” and an in-person Workshop/Panel on Customs and Logistics at an international conference and the crucial role ATA Carnets play in cultivating business growth.

The ATA Carnet is an internationally accepted customs document for temporarily exported merchandise, goods, or equipment (boomerang freight®) that allows for cross-border movement of those goods import-duty and -tax free in and out of 87+ carnet countries and territories for up to a year.  Also known as the Merchandise Passport, the ATA Carnet is a unique international trade tool for accessing foreign markets easily and affordably.  ATA Carnets can be utilized to demonstrate your product to prospective buyers, take part in international trade shows, and transport professional equipment for a contracted job across international borders.

At the “Business Opportunities in the Americas Conference” this past year in Reston, Virginia, Curt E.H. Wilson, President and CEO, boomerang carnets, was an invited panelist on Customs and Logistics. He shared knowledge and tips reflective of his deep understanding of the ATA Carnet’s flexibility and how to navigate customs procedures with one.  Daily, Curt guides customers and unravels complexities of crossing international borders, sometimes communicating directly with Customs to assist them.

The workshop was expertly moderated by Manuel “Manny” Velazquez, U.S. Trade Facilitation & Customs Specialist at U.S. Commercial Service / Consulate General of the United States in Monterrey Nuevo Leon, Mexico.  The panel addressed the ins and outs of supply chain logistics, shipping and how to plan for and navigate customs procedures.

ASK MANNY!

Boomerang Carnets has had the privilege of working with Mr. Velazquez in both the webinar format, and the in-person panel presentation at the Trade Americas Conference earlier this year.  We both assist companies interested in growth by providing the necessary information and tools within our individual and shared areas of expertise.

Mr. Velazquez makes himself available to questions about customs and documentation issues.  His ASK MANNY! motto serves as an invitation to exporters’ questions and concerns.  His focus also covers international trade, innovation, commercial diplomacy, trade events, trade barriers, import-export process and much more.  You can ASK MANNY! through the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Commercial Service, Monterrey, Mexico.

If you are interested in growing your business in the Americas, key opportunity sectors include: advanced manufacturing, agriculture, auto parts and services, aerospace, education services, energy, environmental technology, healthcare, housing and construction, information technology, equipment, Internet and digital economy, packaging equipment, plastics and resins, security and safety equipment, transportation infrastructure equipment, and travel and tourism services. ATA Carnet use is key to jump-starting an export program.  Just Carnet It!
