Boomerang carnets® proudly sponsored the U.S. Commercial Service (USCS) virtual conference, "Making Global Markets Accessible – Taking the Next Step!" held from May 6-10, 2024, during World Trade Month.  The conference emphasized the vital role of the Rural Export Center (REC) in helping rural businesses enter global markets. ATA Carnets in Global Trade

The ATA Carnet is an internationally accepted customs document for temporarily exported merchandise or goods.  It allows cross border movement of those goods import-duty and -tax free into 87+ carnet countries and territories for up to 12 months.  The ATA Carnet is known as the Merchandise Passport for boomerang freight®.  ATA Carnets can be used to take equipment and gear across international borders for a contracted job, exhibit at an international trade show, or demo a prototype or product. At the end of the 12 months, all the items listed on the Carnet return to the country of origin, thus the term boomerang freight.
