Carnet Users Receive Presidential E-Award

Barrington, IL, May 16, 2011 - ATA Carnet users, Codonics and Rauland-Borg, recieved the President's E-Award as World Trade Week kicked-off yesterday. Codonics and Rauland-Borg are two of twenty-seven firms from sixteen states that were awarded the President's E-Awards for their efforts in expanding U.S. exports. Both Codonics and Rauland-Borg are carnet users as well as exporters. Here is the entire list of recipients:

Acrow Corporation of America of Parsipanny, New Jersey manufacturers steel bridges.

Advanced Protein Systems of Phoenix, Arizona manufactures products made from bovine colostrum for use as a health product.

Aero Precision Industries LLC of Livermore, California is a distributor of Original Equipment Manufacturer aircraft parts.

Amarr Garage Doors of Winston-Salem, North Carolina is a manufacturer and distributor of garage doors.

Blackboard Inc. of Washington, D.C. exports educational technology to over 71 countries.

Brandt Holdings Company of Fargo, North Dakota exports pre-owned agricultural equipment and heavy machinery.

Codonics Inc. of Middleburg Heights, Ohio specializes in advanced medical imaging products, and is represented in nearly 100 countries around the world.

Combustion Associates, Inc. of Corona, California provides technologies that promote fuel usage efficiency, reduce pollution, and reduce waste streams by using them as fuel sources.

Cyanotech Corporation of Kailua Kona, Hawaii is a world leader in the production of high-value natural products derived from microalgae for animal and human consumption and a health aid.

Kenyon International Emergency Services, Inc. of Houston, Texas provides worldwide disaster management services.

Labcon North America of Petaluma, California is a manufacturer of laboratory consumables used in liquid handling or storage.

Magic Time International of Doral, Florida distributes American-made food products such as canned, boxed and bottled goods, cereals, salad dressings, snacks, spreads, and beverages to countries around the globe.

Noni Biotech International, LLC of Haiku, Hawaii is the world’s largest manufacturer and supplier of health and beauty products made from the Hawaiian Noni fruit.

Rauland-Borg Corporation of Mt. Prospect, Illinois manufactures hospital communications systems, commonly referred to as “Nurse Call.”

Ruud Lighting, Inc. of Racine, Wisconsin designs, develops, and manufactures luminaires utilizing LED technology.

Signature Fencing and Flooring Systems, LLC of New York, NY manufactures modular fencing and flooring products sold to stadiums, arenas, large event producers, and a variety of commercial and industrial customers.

Tiger Machinery Company, LLC of Birmingham, Alabama is an authorized Caterpillar machinery dealer for Far-East Russia.

Unique Spectronix, Inc. of Fullerton, California focuses solely on exporting U.S. made appliance components to the Korean companies LG and Samsung.

Volk Optical Inc. of Mentor, Ohio manufactures medical devices to diagnose and treat eye conditions.  The company’s exports grew from nearly 40% between 2007 and 2010.

The Presidential “E” Award was created by President John F. Kennedy in 1961 to recognize persons, firms, or organizations that contribute greatly to increasing United States exports. The Presidential “E Star” Award recognizes continued superior performance in increasing or promoting exports.
