The Gold Medal-Winning U.S. Bobsled Team Used Fifteen ATA Carnet Export Documents to Clear Canadian Customs With Their Sleds and Gear for the World Cup Competition. Each Athlete Used "The Passport for Goods" to Save Money Traveling Across the Border. However, the 4-Man Team, Piloted by Olympic Gold Medalist Steven Holcomb, Returned With an Item Not Listed on Their Carnets: a Gold Medal. The Athletes Cleared Over $500,000 Worth of Equipment Without Paying Duties and Taxes En Route to Whistler. Use of the ATA Carnets Saved the Team at Least $25,000.
