Mexico - Special Considerations

Note special considerations for Carnets going to Mexico:

• Mexican Customs allows ATA Carnets and their goods to remain in Mexico for up to 6 months. 
   
• At this time, all Customs ports in Mexico validate ATA Carnets in and out of Mexico.
  Mexico Customs Ports of Entry and Hours of Operation.
   
• Advance Notification/Registration - Carnets entering Mexico must be registered before arrival.
   
• The General List is no longer recommended to be translated into Spanish but it can be provided by boomerang carnets® if desired.
   
• Note and track the Final Date of Re-Exportation on the white importation counterfoil as that is the final day the goods may be in Mexico. Regardless of whether Mexican Customs completes the Final Date of Re-Exportation, items can only be in Mexico for 6 months.
