Carnet Processing Fees to Increase February 1

In an announcement received January 2nd, 2013, the U.S. national guaranteeing association, United States Council for International Business, advised its service providers that certain carnet processing fees would be increased as of February 1st, 2013. This is a nationwide rate increase that will affect all service providers and third-parties that supply carnets. The fees that are affected are:

  • Basic Processing
  • Certificates & Reorders
  • General List Continuation Sheets

Expedited Service Fees, Replacement Fees, Carnet Bond Fees and other ancillary charges will not change. The increase to Basic Processing Fees ranges from 4.7% to 7% depending upon the value of the goods on the General List. The interactive carnet budget worksheet will be updated to reflect the new fees as of February 1st. Here is a chart of the fee increases:
