Summer Interns Bring Inquiring Minds to Boomerang Carnets
Boomerang carnets® has a record 5 summer interns in 2013. Two are returning and 3 are new to boomerang carnets®. They represent a variety of schools and majors across the country and they are supporting boomerang carnets® in different capacities and roles. Natalie Brewer and Niko Levy are returning this summer with Taylor Onoyan, Alex Mendelsohn and Natalie Black interning at boomerang carnets® for the first time.
Natalie Brewer is a senior at Illinois State University, Normal IL, and has interned periodically for boomerang carnets® since April of 2010. She completes her Physical Education Teacher Education degree in June of 2014 and will be certified to teach K-12. Natalie assists in the issuing of ATA Carnets and is a reliable, dedicated support intern for the Carnet Specialists during her school vacations.
Niko Levy is in his second summer of interning at boomerang carnets® where he supports the Information Technology Department. Niko is a senior at the University of Idaho in Moscow, ID and is studying Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. He will graduate in January of 2015. Niko performs Help Desk responsibilities for the IT Department to assist the boomerang carnets® staff in keeping their work stations running smoothly. Although he is a UIdaho "Vandal," the boomerang carnets® computers seem to be running quite smoothly this summer.
Taylor Onoyan is a new intern at boomerang carnets® this summer where she is learning how to assist the Carnet Specialists in issuing carnets and providing customer support. Taylor is a sophomore and attends Bryant University in Smithfield, RI where she is planning to declare marketing as her major. She is on the Bryant girls volleyball team and is proud to be a Bryant Bulldog!
Natalie Black is also a new intern and the first intern to work in the boomerang carnets®, California office. She is assisting the Marketing Department with a focus on social media and communications. (See the new Boomerang Carnets® Pinterest Boards for a sample of her handiwork.) Natalie is a sophomore at the University of California at Santa Cruz where she is a HAVC major and a Film minor. HAVC (pronounced "havoc") is the History of Art and Visual Culture. Fortunately Natalie and Niko are in different offices since we are not sure what would ensue if a Vandal met a HAVC???
Alex Mendelsohn is assisting in the IT Department this summer where he is a new intern. Alex has an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Programming in Media Arts from the Tribeca Flashpoint Academy in Chicago. He plans to continue his education and will get a bachelor's degree. We look forward to Alex creating the first ATA Carnet video game, "Where in the World is Carnet San Diego?"
