The Winter Olympics will be held in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, from February 6–22, 2026 followed by the Paralympic Winter Games from March 6–15, 2026.  Games and Events will be held across multiple world-class venues in Northern Italy—not only Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo but also Bormio, Livigno, Val di Fiemme, Anterselva/Antholz, and Predazzo, and Tesero.

An estimated 2,900 athletes from more than 90 countries will compete in 116 Olympic and 79 Paralympic events.  During the Olympic Games, 245 gold, 245 silver, and 245 bronze medals will be awarded; the Paralympic Games will present 137 gold, 137 silver, and 137 bronze medals.

The 16 different 2026 Olympic sport disciplines include Alpine skiing; biathlon; bobsleigh; cross-country skiing; curling; figure skating; freestyle skiing; ice hockey; luge; Nordic combined; short-track speed skating; skeleton; ski jumping; ski mountaineering; snowboard and speed skating.

The Opening Ceremony, titled Armonia (“Harmony”), will take place on February 6 at Milan’s San Siro Stadium, produced by Banijay Entertainment–owned Balich Wonder Studio.  It will emphasize the concept of harmony originating from ancient Greek philosophy.

The Closing Ceremony on February 22 will feature internationally acclaimed Italian-born ballet star Roberto Bolle, described by The London Times as a “Greek God.”  Titled Beauty in Motion, the ceremony will be held in Verona’s historic Roman amphitheater, one of the world’s oldest.

As one of the world’s major sporting events, the Olympic Winter Games rely on media outlets, broadcasters, photographers, and production companies to bring excitement to audiences everywhere.  An estimated 2 to 5 billion spectators across the globe will view and experience ceremonies and competitions on their preferred screens and devices.
