As many of you already know, the ATA Carnet is transforming from a paper document to a digital one—an eATA Carnet. The magnitude of this undertaking requires more than 90 countries and territories, their national guaranteeing associations, customs authorities, and the wide range of carnet users and exporters to all be ready at the same time. Needless to say, it is a process.
During the next phase in this transition, you may be required to carry your ATA Carnet in both the paper and digital form in a “temporary union” until the transformation is complete.
