Boomerang carnets® proudly marks its 20th anniversary as a sponsor for the U.S. Boomerang Team by becoming the Title Sponsor for the World Boomerang Championships 2024, to be held from July 6-16 in Westminster, Colorado.  This milestone underscores our enduring commitment and passion for the sport.  Representing boomerang carnets at the United States Boomerang Association (USBA) Team Trials, held March 15-17 in Dallas, Texas, was Moira Wilson, Director, Marketing & Brand Development.  The trials determined the two six-member squads that will showcase the finest boomerang talent in the U.S. at this year’s World Competition.  We are honored to support and celebrate these exceptional athletes as they compete on the global stage.

Competing Countries

At the World Boomerang Championships that took place in Bordeaux, France in 2022, twelve teams representing twelve countries competed.  They were France, Great Britain, U.S.A., Australia, Brazil, Japan, Indonesia, Spain, India, Switzerland, Germany, and Colombia.  Eleven out of the twelve, at the time were ATA Carnet countries. Unfortunately, Brazil has left the ATA Carnet system since then but, hopefully, they will be back.  Colombia is not an ATA Carnet country.  This year, twelve countries will be present at the 2024 World Boomerang Championships in Colorado: Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, and the U.S.A.  All are ATA Carnet countries, except for Brazil. 
 

ATA Carnets Are Used for International Sport Competitions

The ATA Carnet is an internationally accepted customs document for temporarily exported merchandise or goods.  It allows cross border movement of those goods import-duty and -tax free into 87+ carnet countries and territories for up to a year.  The ATA Carnet is  known as the Merchandise Passport for boomerang freight® and ideal for professional equipment, goods, or commercial samples moving in and out of countries.  For your convenience, check out Boomerang’s list of sports gear and equipment that you can put on an ATA Carnet HERE.
