Located Strategically in US and UK, "Boomerang Benefit" Makes Debut

Boomerang carnets® sponsored the League of American Orchestras’ (LOAO) 77th National Conference held this year June 1-3 as an in-person event in Los Angeles.  It was exciting to be back in person for the first time in three years to connect with old friends and colleagues and meet so many new people!  The conference theme was “Forward Together” with an agenda that integrated topics to re-envision the future.  Boomerang’s booth was shared with longtime trusted partners, SOS Global.  Curt E. H. Wilson, President and CEO of boomerang carnets and Managing Director of boomerang carnets U.K., was there to welcome visitors to the Boomerang booth and answer questions about ATA Carnets and international touring for orchestras, individual musicians, or small groups planning a tour, now that it is possible again.  The Boomerang booth also provided native California refreshments, Orange Julius and See’s chocolate candy, to celebrate and welcome everyone back.

Curt Wilson remarked, “It is with heartfelt joy that after so many years of not being able to interact face-to-face, we are together finally at the League Conference in LA. With 1,000+ registrations for it and the great turn-out onsite, the feeling I’m getting is this industry will rebound strongly.  Enthusiasm is very strong with everyone in positive, upbeat moods.  There are many new faces intermingled with the old. We’re all adjusting to the transformation the industry is undergoing to being more digitized.  It’s exciting. The future looks promising for the League of American Orchestras and their Members and the industry.”

“Boomerang is currently working to expand discounted carnet rates for musicians in both the U.S. and the U.K.  We want to bring answers to members of musicians’ organizations and unions by providing easier access to carnets.  Right now, we are offering discounted carnet rates to members of the Musicians’ Union in the U.K. and are planning to build on that with the Association of British Orchestras (ABO), and the Featured Artists Coalition (FAC) moving forward.  Located strategically in the U.S. and the U.K., we can make international touring for those orchestras and musicians easier and more affordable than any other ATA Carnet and logistics outfit anywhere,” Curt added.

Boomerang carnets also offers benefits available only to League members.  Return Carnet Delivery is available at a discount and, our Carnets "Play the World" program benefits musicians with travel itineraries independent of the orchestra they are touring with.  Boomerang also sponsors an annual grant program for LOAO and ABO members who are orchestra operations professionals who want to attend annual conferences and need to defray costs to do so.  Congratulations to Beth Ulman, Executive Director, and Christopher Hisey, Music Director of the Greater Connecticut Youth Orchestras, as recipients of this year’s Carnets “Play the World” Grants.

Congratulations also to Boomerang’s Tiffany raffle prize winner: Vanessa Gardner, Director of Marketing, Toledo Symphony.

This year’s conference was a momentous event, and we were honored and excited to be a part of it.
