On April 20^th, 2023, thousands of people flocked to Exmouth, a small town located at the far stretches of Western Australia, and the only place on Earth that day, where one could observe a 100% eclipse of the sun.  Among the crowd, a satisfied boomerang freight® solutions customer, Prof. Shadia Habbal, Institute for Astronomy, University of Hawai’i (UH) and Team Leader for The Solar Wind Sherpas.  Since 1995, the group has travelled to 14 locations throughout the world to observe total solar eclipses to study the sun’s corona and solar wind. 

Boomerang Freight Solutions (BFS) arranged, coordinated, and managed the delivery of essential gear and scientific equipment needed to observe and record the solar event for Prof. Habbal.  Bonnie Jantzen, Senior Logistics Manager for BFS with 30 years’ experience in exports and logistics, facilitated the logistical challenges of this shipment to Exmouth, Australia, managing and monitoring the boomerang freight® over a two-week period.  First, to Sydney Airport, then onto Perth 3,290.45 km across the continent, and then onto the final destination north to Exmouth, 1,096 km away.  The last leg nearly got delayed due to an unexpected weather warning. 
 

“Booked on flight to Exmouth, but I'm not sure if the flight will operate, as a category 5 cyclone is approaching the area,” Bonnie wrote in a communication to Prof. Habbal.  Then, within 48 hours, “It arrived.”  The equipment was delivered on time at Prof. Habbal’s accommodation with an official “POD (Proof of Delivery) confirmation.”
