Boomerang carnets® was Gold Sponsor to “Business Opportunities in the Americas Conference” held last week, September 17-19, in Reston, Virginia.  The agenda delivered substantive information on cultivating business opportunities for international growth.  Curt E.H. Wilson, President, and CEO, and Kiel Ursin, Carnet Specialist, represented boomerang carnets in-person and met with exporters and government delegates.  Embassies from twenty-eight countries, including carnet countries Mexico, Chile, and Canada were in attendance.  In addition to one-on-one meetings arranged ahead of time, there were many attendees who stopped by the boomerang carnets booth to learn more about the benefits of using an ATA Carnet to grow their business.

The ATA Carnet is an internationally accepted customs document for temporarily exported merchandise, goods, or equipment (boomerang freight®) is that allows for cross-border movement of those goods import-duty and -tax free in and out of 87+ carnet countries and territories for up to a year.  Also known as the Merchandise Passport, the ATA Carnet is a unique international trade tool for accessing foreign markets easily and affordably. 

Curt E.H. Wilson participated in the Customs and Logistics Workshop/panel discussion addressing goods movement, shipping, and navigating customs procedures.  His 36 years of experience includes a high-level knowledge of the “International Customs Convention” and the international treaty governing the ATA Carnet system.  He applies his understanding of the ATA Carnet document’s flexibility to guide customers and unravel complexities of crossing international borders when needed.  He’s also been known to communicate directly with Customs to assist clients.  The workshop was well received.
