Brazil Hosts 2012 Competition

U.S. World Champion Boomerang Team to Defend Title

In October of 2012 the reigning U.S. World Champion Boomerang Team will travel to Brazil (a future carnet country) to defend its title.  Every two years national, professional boomerang teams compete for the title – World Boomerang Champion. This is the first time the Championships will be hosted by a Latin American country and the Brazilians are excited.

Note: Brazil is soon-to-be the second South American country to join the world-wide ATA Carnet system. Chile joined the carnet system 7 years ago.

Carnet countries Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Switzerland, Japan, Czech Republic and the U.S.A. are sending teams. Future carnet countries, Brazil and Argentina will send teams too.

Boomerang Venue Made Famous by Television, Everything Oversized in Itu

The city of Itu (45 minutes from Sao Paulo) will host athletes from 13 countries from October 17th to 29th.  Itu has the unusual distinction of having over-sized tourist attractions including huge sandwiches and public telephones which were part of a television series.

During 10 days of competition, the teams will focus on winning and also enjoy Brazilian food and culture, taking day trips to points of interest.
